Mark Vonnahme, CPA is the Executive Vice President of the Arch Insurance Group's surety operation, where his responsibilities include underwriting, marketing, and operations related to the surety business unit within Arch's US insurance operations.
Prior to joining Arch, Mark was the Fox Family Distinguished Clinical Professor on the faculty in the Department of Finance, College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He joined the university in 2004 after a 31 year career in the property casualty and surety business. Mark's career with CNA began in the Surety Division in 1972, where he held a variety of positions, and he served as the President and CEO of the company until his retirement in 2003.
Mark is a member of the Illinois CPA Society and a past chair of the organization's Construction Accounting Committee. He has served on the board of directors for numerous organizations, including CNA Surety Corporation, DeMontfort Insurance PLC, Surety Association of America, Surety Information Office Policy Board, and on American Insurance Association's Fidelity and Surety Committee. He recently completed a three-year term as the first non-FCAS member of the Board of Directors of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
Mark received his Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Finance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
