David Winston, CPCU, is a Vice President for Arch Insurance Group/Construction. David has 20 years' experience in the insurance industry with over 10 years dedicated to Construction Underwriting. He has played a key role in the development and strategic enhancements to the Arch Insurance Construction unit since its inception in late 2002. His main areas of expertise/responsibility include the creation of underwriting guidelines and strategies; coverage forms and interpretation; and regulatory compliance unique to contractors.
David is considered a subject matter expert at Arch Insurance on issues relative to contractual risk transfer, subcontract provisions, endorsements, and interpretation of various contract clauses. He has been intimately involved in the development of internal contract review processes and procedures, as well as the ongoing education of Arch Underwriting, Claim, and Risk Control personnel.
Dave has been a contributing author for CFMA's "Talking Heavy" e-newsletter on subjects concerning contractor exposure to loss and the necessary controls to prevent and mitigate losses once they occur.
Dave is a graduate of Hobart College in Geneva, NY and has an MBA from the University of Minnesota.
