Professional Women in Construction

Joselin Martin created True North CFO in 2020 to provide fractal CFO services to private entities without benefit of an internal strategic financial partner. In everything she does, Joselin brings her over 30 years’ experience in accounting, which started as the assistant to the bookkeeper for the family’s construction company. She went on to work with a Big 4 accounting firm and then held several roles leading SME finance teams, retiring after 20 years as CFO of an internationally owned specialty construction company. In her role as CFO, she developed the finance function, maintained strategic professional partnerships, and managed corporate risk management, human resources, and information technology. She implemented systems, moving transactions safely to the cloud and leveraging automation as technology evolved. Her construction experience also helped her monitor data and to plan for risks associated with economic volatility, the long construction cash-flow cycle and an increasing regulatory environment. Denita Schreier has been in the construction industry since 1995. Her career started as a Regional Controller for the Pennsylvania office of an ENR top 300 contractor, eventually being promoted to Corporate Controller over four regional offices.
In 2005, she started her own consulting practice, helping construction companies make better use of their financial and project management software, preparing financial statements, creating process efficiencies, and improving job cost reporting.
In 2013, she was hired as CFO for a growing national general contractor, WDS Construction. Later that year, the company added a development arm, JCW Development. Earlier this year, Denita was promoted to Executive Vice President over both companies. Currently her focus is on strategic company growth, company branding, real estate development projects, and mentoring others who may follow in her career footsteps. Lorri H. Grayson is the President and co-owner of GG+A Construction, a local commercial general contractor and construction management company located in Middletown with a downstate office in Milton. Since founding the business, she has led her firm to specialize in institutional, hospitality, medical and corporate office, mixed-use and multi-family housing projects.
In 2015, Lorri was named the first female Chair of the Associated Builders and Contractors Board of Directors. She is a past member of the National Board of Directors for ABC. Currently she serves on the ABC National Chapter Development Committee.
In addition to ABC, Lorri promotes diversity by membership and participation in organizations such as Women’s Presidents Organization, Delaware Real Estate Women, American Society of Civil Engineers, Delaware Association of Professional Engineers, National Association of Women in Construction, and Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.
Lorri is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. She is a Registered Professional Engineer in Delaware and a LEED Accredited Professional with the United States Green Building Council.
