John T. Metz, CPA, CCIFP, is the Vice President of Finance/CFO of Integrated Building Industries, Inc., where he oversees the financial, accounting, IT systems, and HR functions of the company. John started his career with Sikich Gardner & Co. (now Sikich LLP) where he performed audit, tax, and consulting services for a variety of clients in a many industries. In 1994, John was named the Director of Construction Industry Services for the firm’s northern Illinois offices and in 1996 was admitted as a partner with the firm. As partner in charge of the construction practice, John worked with more than 65 contractors annually becoming well known as an industry expert through his work with his clients as well as affiliations with various state CPA societies, AICPA, CFMA, CICPAC, AGC, and the American Subcontractors Association. John was also a frequent speaker, both locally and nationally, as well as an author on numerous topics. In 22, John left Sikich to join Scheck Mechanical Corporation, a national industrial piping and mechanical contractor, performing work throughout the U.S., as the CFO. In 24, John accepted a position of CFO and Director of Finance with DACO Incorporated, an international manufacturing company. In 214, John joined Christopher Glass & Aluminum, Inc. as CFO. John is an active member of CFMA and currently serves as the Chicago Chapter's President. In addition to his local involvement, John currently serves on the Membership Committee and previously served on several others.
