I have worked in the construction industry for most of my life. My first job was laborer for a small-sized general contractor in Sacramento. This was a tough job that challenged me physically and mentally, but my biggest take-away was an introduction to an amazing multi faceted industry. I got my degree in Construction Management at CSU Chico and quickly entered the workforce by accepting a Project Engineer role at Turner Construction. The first quarter of my career I worked as a Project Engineer, Superintendent, and Project Manager. I had a very strong inclination towards budgeting and cost controls. This led to my next career stage as Cost Engineer, then Senior Cost Engineer/Assistant Financial manager. This role was mostly a corporate internal auditing function, but also gave me insight into project accounting, cost controls, risk management and budget planning. Career and statutory limitations forced me out of this role. My next move was back to project management, where I spent the next several years. I left Turner Construction and joined Webcor in 2013 as a project manager on the San Francisco General Hospital project. In 2016, there was an opening for Operations Controller. I applied for this as the job description highlighted some of my favorite aspects of my previous Assistant Financial Manager role at Turner Construction. The operational experience I have is a significant part of what has made me successful over the past 8 years. I have a repour operations teams because I have been in their shoes and worked with many of them on their projects. These relationships have helped foster a trust bridge between Operations and Finance and ultimately assisted in elevate me to the position of Vice President of Finance for a $2 Billion organization. I live in Corte Madera (Central Marin) with my wife, 2 kids, and Labradoodle. We spend a lot of time attending various kids sports events. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking and taking family bike trips. I also like camping and Frisbee Golf.
