Strategic Relationships through Prequalification

Mar 25, 2020 2:00pm ‐ Mar 25, 2020 3:00pm

Prequalification programs have been in place now for more than 10 years, leading to what most Subcontractors (Subs) call “Prequal Season”. This session will take a deep dive into where we are today, is the system working? If so, why are some General Contractors (GC) still afraid of Subcontractor failure? And for Subcontractors, have they become more comfortable with sharing financial information? And, if your company ‘picture’ or financial statement isn’t A+, is there anything the Subcontractor can do to ‘dress it up’? And how “bad” does a Sub have to be, to be a NO go?

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the state of the Prequalification today and what we have learned
  • Learn why some Subs “qualify” better than others
  • Methods used by General Contractors and Sub-Contractors to reach the top of the heap with their Prequalification submissions
  • What RED flag(s) will disqualify a GC with the Owner or the Sub with the GC

Field of Study: 1.0 CPE credits in the field of Accounting.
