This session will review the reasons why Structure Tone, Davis and Pankow have opted in for CMiC Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to provide a supplementary method to effectively track and summarize their costs on a per transaction basis. As case studies, they will draw on their organization’s experience to outline how WBS can be tailored to the specific requirements of each company according to the cost structure of a job.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the benefits for an organization to opt in for CMiC WBS
  • Compare and contrast the processes of each company to identify which ones were streamlined using WBS
  • Explore the differences in setup between the 3 companies to assess the applications of WBS from the most simple to the ‘wow it does that’!

Structuring Output Using MIP

Oct 30, 2019 8:30am ‐ Oct 30, 2019 10:00am

Identification: 27

This learning lab will focus on using the CMiC platform to create customized outputs from CMiC Field in both Word and PDF formats. We will review use cases for Subcontract/Purchase Orders, Submittals and Changes, among others. The MIP integration supports the creations of consistent and customizable outputs that will match your specific requirements.

Learning Objectives:

  • Using the fields in the system to create starter templates
  • Using Form Letter Definitions to expand MIP functionality through additional fields and UDFs
  • Troubleshooting common MIP pitfalls and mistakes

Introduction to CMiC Business Intelligence

Oct 30, 2019 8:30am ‐ Oct 30, 2019 10:00am

Identification: 28

During this learning lab we'll conduct a hands-on training session that showcases CMiC’s Catalog & Dashboard Builder. CMiC Catalog Builder establishes the data structure utilized in building the visualizations in Dashboard Builder. In Catalog Builder users can define data elements, apply user defined fields, create calculated fields, and define security prior to building the dashboard components. Dashboard Builder will be used to visualize, analyze and report on multiple business areas in real time.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understanding Catalog Builder
  • Analyzing data with Visualization
  • Embedding dashboards into Console and UI Runtime programs

This 'technical' lab will focus on the 'how' of managing integrations. Presenters will describe the capabilities of CMiC APIs and how to use them to drive innovation with your technology stack. For example, CMiC APIs are used when you need data to flow into your system of record (CMiC) or if you need to exchange data with third-party systems. Participants will investigate and discuss how to create smart and comprehensive integrations using API Bundles. CMiC APIs can be used for both Cloud and Enterprise deployments, making this session useful for all CMiC customers.

Learning Objectives:

  • Discern the potential of CMiC APIs and documentation by learning what is available
  • Assemble and apply CMiC APIs to move data between disparate systems with tools such as Postman
  • Explain how reduction (or elimination) of duplicative entry improves data accuracy and drives cost savings
