Russell F. Agosta

Russell Agosta is the former partner with Grant Thornton LLP (“GT”). At GT, Russ was the National Partner in charge of the Construction Industry practice. Russ is a highly knowledgeable consultant and expert witness on generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and on generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS). At ResX, PC Russ provides consulting and expert witness testimony on GAAP, GAAS, and construction damages. He is a member of the national board of directors and the Chairman of the Audit Committee for the Associated General Contractors. Russ is also a member of the board of directors of Ziebart Corporation, a global consumer products corporation.

Russell Agosta was formerly an Assurance Partner in the Southfield, MI office of Grant Thornton and former Managing Partner of the firm's National Construction, Real Estate and Hospitality Industry Practice. He has more than 35 years of experience in public accounting, and is recognized as an expert in both the accounting and operational aspects of today's construction industry.

Russ has served of the National Board of Directors for CFMA and is a member of the Detroit, MI chapter. He has been a guest presenter and seminar instructor for CFMA, the AICPA, the Builder's Association of South Florida, the National Association of Independent Sureties, and the AGC. He has authored numerous articles for publications including CFMA Building Profits, Journal of Construction Accounting and Taxation, Constructor, and is the publisher of Grant Thornton's quarterly construction and real estate newsletter, Building Business.

Russ earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Detroit.
