David is Head of Surety at Munich RE where he has significant Surety Underwriting, Operations and Senior Management experience within the property casualty marketplace. Proven success in designing innovative risk strategies, implementing organizational structures, leading multi-discipline teams through multiple projects and managing significant P&L budgets in both large multinational insurers and middle market firms to drive revenue growth and profitability. Strategic thinker who is known for a hands-on approach that builds trust with clients to deliver results. Previously, David was Assistant Vice President of Business Development at Hartford Bond where he is in charge of implementing key business strategies to build the companies writings. He was formerly the head of surety leading Navigators Insurance's expansion of their surety department when Navigators was purchased by Hartford in 2019. David is a 1986 Graduate of Lafayette College in Easton, PA with a B.S. in Mathematics. Upon graduation he began his surety career and has held various underwriting and senior management positions with a number of major surety carriers. David currently holds the CCIFP designation. He has served as President of the Florida Surety Association where in 1995 he was awarded the Surety Information Office Silver Award for excellence in Surety Bond Promotion. He is a past board member of the ICCIFP and a current committee member.
