David B. Dolnick is the founder and President of Dolnick Risk Advisors and has more than forty years of comprehensive experience in commercial insurance, construction risk management, occupational safety & health, and loss prevention. Dave works with developers and owners, general contractors, construction management firms, and trade contractors across many sectors of the industry. He has in-depth and direct hands-on knowledge of workers' compensation and casualty insurance; of claims and litigation management; and of occupational safety and health programs.

Mr. Dolnick’s responsibilities have included developing and implementing risk management, claims management, risk transfer, and risk financing programs, as well as implementing and assisting in loss control and accident prevention activities. He has advised Corporate Boards, CEOs, CFOs, and project executives about managing and controlling risk exposures and on related insurance issues. He has direct experience managing liability claim functions under both insured programs and self-insured retentions (including captives and high deductible programs), and in coordinating with and supervising adjusters in insured property, liability and workers’ compensation claim handling. He has direct experience in claims evaluation, settlement and negotiation and in mediation and litigation activities. He has performed audits of corporate and subsidiary company risk management operations, and has direct experience with policy wording, structure, and underwriting. His experience also includes supervising Human Resources and related Personnel functions, including all aspects of employee benefits providing medical, dental, vision, life and long-term disability coverage.

Mr. Dolnick holds the ARM and CRIS professional designations. He is a member of the Risk and Insurance Management Society, a Professional Member of the American Society of Safety Professionals, and a Fellow of the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance. He is also a member of the Associated General Contractors (AGC), the Construction Financial Managers Association (CFMA), and in the Building Industry Association of San Diego. He has been honored as the San Diego RIMS Risk Manager of The Year, with the Risk and Insurance Management Society’s Ron Judd Heart of RIMS, and with the International Risk Management Institute’s “Words of Wisdom”.
